And  there be an online  art exhibition by  students  too.

Why do students come to English Language classes ?

I think I can come up with lots of answers

1. To improve their English language skills ( That’s what they all say but …)

2. To please their parents

3. Because it’s the cool thing to do

4. Because their friends are attending

5. Because its  what everyone does

6. To  learn enough to  pass an exam or just get through  a personal interview for work etc.

7. To get be with or to get a   boy/girl friend

8. To get out of the house

9. To get to go on picnics

10. Because someone told them that they need to learn a bit if they go abroad to study or work

Probably there are lots more reasons .

But what I say is that : YOU ARE ALL WELCOME

Let’ s learn as much as possible while you’re at class.

I’ll do my best to make classes interesting and useful for you too.

( My next post will be on how coming to language classes can benefit you ,other than the points given above )

Although I wouldn’t put it this way in class but I believe the  words above to be pretty good common sense and very practical.

( Students: it means that unexpected and negative things happen in life and we have to face and take care of them the best we can. They cannot be avoided)

Doesn’t it  look like a Burmese guy chewing betel nut ( kun ) ?

Well , Hi everyone , Lots of kids have decided to give the classes a miss this weekend and  I think a lot of them will be absent in the next 2-3 days too. Well, they need their fun and games. I did when I was younger, still need some now and then.  Anyway , all students are getting ready for the festival  big-time. Getting new hair-do’s ,trying to get money out of their parents, arranging jeeps and persuading friends to join them , registering at meditation centres ( yes , there are a lot of holy-roly-polies in my classes )etc  They say that there are 110 stages set up around the Moat , doesn’t look that many to me though.  The sun is screaming hot.I don’t think I’ll be doing anything during the WF . I’ll be writing new posts /gathering info about preparing to study abroad and what it ’s  like when you  get there, also  scholarship information , although if you want it now go to www.studying-singpore.com. It’s written in Myanmar. See you soon

Here’s some stuff I like guys, I hope you like it too. It’s called The Rules of Life. ( Well they’re not all the rules we need to know, but it gives you something to think about.  And everyone from Myanmar / Burma and the people who’ve been here ,try to guess where the above place is .

Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.” (Helen Keller)

Rule One - You will receive a body.

Rule Two - You will be presented with lessons.

Rule Three - There are no mistakes, only lessons.

Rule Four - The lesson is repeated until learned. .

Rule Five - Learning does not end.

Rule Six - “There” is no better than “here”.

Rule Seven - Others are only mirrors of you.

Rule Eight - What you make of your life is up to you.

Rule Nine - Your answers lie inside of you.

Rule Ten - You will forget all this when you die and are reborn again.
